The 2ND Regional Forum ON ICT Capacity Building Were Hold in Korea, 24-28 October.

 The Second Asia-Pacific Regional Forum on ICT Human Capacity Development: ‘Where are we, Where are we going and What will it take to fill the gap?’ were organized from 24 to 28 October by the Incheon-based United Nations Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (APCICT, www.unapcict.org), a regional institute of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
Incheon, Republic of Korea (UN ESCAP Strategic Communications and Advocacy Section) – Over 300 government representatives and development stakeholders from 35 Asia-Pacific countries are meeting in Incheon, Republic of Korea to review achievements in the use of information and communications technology (ICT) to promote sustainable and inclusive development in the region.
Participants from Qafqaz University Rector Mr. Ahmet Sanic and lecturer of department of computer science Mr. Anar Rustemov shared their idea and opinions on national ICT human capacity development experiences, lessons learned and deliberate on ICT challenges and gaps in order to formulate a collaborative roadmap to enhance regional ICT human resource capacities.
For more information, APCICT was inaugurated on 16 June 2006 as a regional institute of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), and is located in Incheon, Republic of Korea. APCICT training module consist of 10 available modules (1 - The Linkage between ICT Applications and Meaningful Development, 2 - ICT for Development Policy, Process and Governance, 3 - e-Government Applications, 4 - ICT Trends for Government Leaders, 5 - Internet Governance, 6 - Network and Information Security and Privacy, 7 - ICT Project Management in Theory and Practice, 8 - Options for Funding ICT for Development, 9 - ICT for Disaster Risk Management, 10 - ICT and Climate Change, Green Growth and Sustainable  Development)
Beside participants from Qafqaz University, Country Director of National Tempus Office (European Commission) Mr. Parviz Baghirov, Deputy Chairman of Civil Service Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Vafadar Misirov, Leading Consultant of Sector of  Information Technologies and Software Civil Service Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan MirNatig Alaskar-zada.
